Christmas lists.
This year I am intent on simplifying our Christmas shopping. I tend to go overboard when it comes to buying gifts for our kids. I might see a deal on bluray movies and actually consider buying them for “when” we get a bluray dvd player. This year I am very determined to set a budget and stick to it. The kids are getting gifts valued at a set amount. I always have a hard time with this when the gifts are small in size. I know my son has no concept of money and doesn’t realize that the Wii games he just had to have might cost $50.00 each. These don’t make for a large pile of presents under the tree but that is just how it is going to be this year. I think we need to spend some time with him out shopping and spending money so that he begins to understand how much things really do cost. I know it won’t be until he has to spend his own money that he fully grasps how our economy works.
