Dreaming of the farm.
Today is one of those days when I want to be anywhere but where I am. My toddler is experiencing one of those phases where he can’t ask for anything without screaming. It doesn’t matter if he wants more milk or to watch a video, it all comes out in a screaming demand for attention. Where I would really like to be is at parents house. My parents live on a farm. If you have ever been to a farm or grown up on one you can appreciate what farm life is like. If we could I would return to country living in a heart beat but we simply can’t. As often as possible I try to take my children to visit my parents so they can experience a taste of farm life. My older son can’t get enough of my parents barn and outbuildings. He spends every minute possible outside exploring. Our younger son has just one thing on his mind when he gets there and that is my father’s truck. My father has a Ford F150 and couldn’t live without. A truck is an indispensable piece of equipment on the farm. It get used for everything from hauling wood, animals, and feed to plowing the drive. When the rest of us are stuck in our city driveways my Dad and Mom are out cruising the streets. You just can’t beat F150 wheels for getting you where you need to go in rain, snow, or other inclement weather. We have been really thankful for my Dad’s truck now that we are in the process of moving. It is simply so much easier and cheaper to load up the truck and take a bunch of stuff whenever we want to the new house. Renting a moving truck is both expensive and inconvenient. On particularly cranky days with my two year old I would really, really love to have one of these trucks. He loves nothing more than to sit behind the wheel and pretend to drive the F150 just like Grandpa! He doesn’t every have to leave the driveway and his world is a happy place. That sort of describes how most men feel behind the wheel of an F150 doesn’t it?
