Upgrade your skills online.

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

In this economy many people are recognizing the need to upgrade their skill set. The problem with this is finding a way to juggle the responsibilities of work and home while attending classes. This is a situation where online or distance learning is an ideal opportunity.

Today, online certificates and degrees are available in a wide array of fields. One such program is the online Project Management certificate from St. Joseph’s University. The great thing about this program is that it addresses the needs of a variety of managerial fields which include but are not limited to Construction, Engineering, and those in Emergency Services management.

With the training provided through this program graduates are prepared to take lead roles in project and program management positions. Having this type of specialized training is a great way to enhance not only your skill set but also to open doors to more challenging and rewarding career opportunities. St. Joseph’s University affords an incredible opportunity to remain competitive in this economy without making sacrifices to your current life commitments.

Having personally completed a degree through online learning I can attest to the high quality educational experience today’s online programs can offer. From the convenience of home I was able to learn at my own pace in a learning environment I found to actually be superior to many of my traditional classroom experiences. There is absolutely no way I could ever have completed a doctoral degree in a traditional classroom setting while working and raising a family.

With affordable payment plans, a flexible learning schedule, and a top notch educational institution behind it the Program Management certificate from St. Joseph’s University is a wise investment in your future.

Annoying habit.

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Have you ever known someone who had to tell you how much everything they buy cost them? This has to be one of the most annoying habits a person can have in my opinion. Maybe it is because I never have had expensive things and there is a little part of me that is jealous. I really don’t want to know that your Patek Philippe watch cost. I am one of those people who appreciates beautiful things whether they are free or cost a million dollars. I recognize I probably have a touch of this habit my self to a degree. My problem is I love telling people about bargains I get. I am working on this habit because I am starting to recognize it is just as annoying. You probably really don’t want to know that I spent $50 on groceries that cost you $150 do you? I am sorry if I have annoyed you and I am trying to mend my ways.

Finally over.

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

The race for president is finally over. This particular race has been a real challenge for me as voter to come to a decision about. There are so many things that I agree with the Republican party position about. On the other hand there are so many things I agree with the Democratic position on. When it finally came down to two candidates I was extremely torn as neither really seemed to represent “me” and what I believe. I just have to say I am glad it is finally over. I pray our leadership takes this country in a direction that moves us toward a brighter tomorrow. It will be good to not have to defend one position or the other four another four years.

Serious puppy parent.

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Technically my son is the owner of the new puppy in our house. For the most part he is taking this responsibility extremely serious. He has taken the dog outside almost every time that she has needed to go. The three books he was given about this breed of dog have already been read within hours of getting the dog. A strict feeding schedule has been adhered to and grooming tools purchased. It is so encouraging to see this side of my son who usually is so wrapped up in his world of books. I can just see him in 20 years taking care of his own children with the same earnestness.

How do they find out?

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

We just bought a new house and I can’t believe how quickly advertisers are alerted to this. Our mail box is stuffed every single day with advertisements for home security systems, auto insurance, home repair services, and everything you can imagine. These letters are always targeted to us as “new” home owners which makes it very clear that someone involved in the home buying process has sold our information to these companies. This kinds of drives me crazy because it isn’t like everyone involved in our home buying experience is already being compensated for their time. Why do they think it is permissible to make a few more bucks selling my information?

What is girl to do?

We all have bad habits. Well my bad habit is coffee. I love coffee just a little to much. This isn’t to say I drink gallons a day. Quite simply I need to have one good sized mug of really good coffee a day. I used to have a special place I would buy coffee until last week when we moved. Now I have nothing. There isn’t even a place around here to buy Starbucks coffee in a bag or anything. I am just a sad girl who needs a good cup of coffee. I have always had a special place for coffee wherever we have lived and I really miss having that right now! Maybe this is someone’s way of telling me I need to change my habits?

Boyle’s Furniture $10,000 Dream Room Giveaway!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

We are in the process of looking for a new house which is always a great deal of fun. The only thing that is driving me crazy right now is that we are looking at much larger houses than we currently have. I am having a really hard time envisioning what our new house will look like with our furniture in it since we really don’t have very much. I think I am going to seriously have to look into getting some discount furniture.

What I really, really, REALLY need to do is win the $10,000 Dream Room Giveaway at Boyle’s Furniture. Boyle’s is a North Carolina’s furniture retailer that sells both online in and in their 3 brick and motor stores. With pricing at as much 50% lower than what other stores sell similar furniture for shopping at Boyle’s is a great way to stretch your buying dollar.

Now through August 31st Boyle’s is having a contest in which a lucky winner be given $10,000 to create an incredible dream room. You can enter this contest by clicking the above image. Entries are allowed daily until the contest deadline so don’t delay! As much as I would love to win the $10,000 myself it would be fun if one of you did as well!

A little help here…

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

We are having our home inspected on Monday as part of an offer we have to buy our house! Yes, you read that right someone has actually made an offer on our home. I couldn’t believe the news when I heard it and almost cried with joy. Right now though we have some minor repairs that I think need to be done prior to the home inspection. Do you have any idea who in our house is trying to fix a leaky pipe right now? Not the man of the house because he is to busy looking at websites like authorize.net or whatnot. I realize he goes to work all day but I also work and raise kids. I think that selling our house should be a priority over watching YouTube or visiting random websites.
